Senior Manager, Marketing and Legal Affairs
As of December 2018, I chose to move to a much larger company and industry in general, known as the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA). I was excited to be on the same nonprofit path, but I took a new turn towards a trade association where the members are not individuals, but major retailers such as Target, Home Depot, and Best Buy. I accepted a Senior Manager, Marketing and Legal Affairs job with RILA and began my move to a new area of the DMV. I packed my box of supplies and moved from the heart of DC to Arlington, VA. I used my legal experience from the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) and applied it to this role as I worked on amicus briefs, legal research, interact with retail members’ General Counsel, plan the Retail Law Conference, draft letters, newsletters, and other communications to important top legal executives of Fortune 500 companies. In addition, I directed marketing and rebranding new initiatives for the Retail Litigation Center (RLC) and developed strategies to assist in the legal battles against the Plaintiffs Bar. I am also using my marketing knowledge from previous roles to recruit new RLC members, raise awareness, establish higher retention rates in the RLC, and design one-pagers and marketing documents for the litigation center.
